Privacy Policy
Sudokuwu is built to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains exactly what is — and isn't — collected when you play.
Last updated: September 3, 2026
No accounts, no personal data collection
Sudokuwu has no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles. We don't ask for your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information, and none is collected by the game itself.
What's stored on your device
Sudokuwu saves two small preferences in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits: your chosen light/dark theme, and whether you've hidden the in-game timer. Neither is sent to any server — they stay entirely on your device, and you can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for Sudokuwu.
In-progress puzzle state (your current board, timer, and pause status) lives only in your browser's memory for the current session — it is not written to local storage and does not sync across devices or browser restarts.
Puzzle data
Daily puzzles are fetched read-only from our database (Google Firestore) so that every player sees the same puzzle on a given day. This fetch does not include or transmit any information about you — it's a one-way, anonymous read of publicly available puzzle data.
Advertising
Sudokuwu intends to display ads served through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs, once approved. If and when ads are shown, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can learn more about how Google uses this data, and manage your ad personalization settings, at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Your choices
Since Sudokuwu has no account to manage, your main privacy controls live in your browser rather than on this site: clearing your browser's local storage and cookies for Sudokuwu removes the theme and timer preferences described above, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies outright, which limits (but may not fully disable) ad personalization from providers like Google. The Advertising section above links to Google's own controls for managing ad personalization specifically.
Children's privacy
Sudokuwu does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the site has no accounts or user-submitted data of any kind, no personal information is collected from visitors of any age through normal use of the game.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date above. Continued use of Sudokuwu after a change means you accept the revised policy.
